Several months later

Oh goodness me, I disappeared for a while there. It’s been…a minute. Life has been utterly lifing and I got swept away in the chaos. Let’s catch up.

In a truly millenial fashion, I’m going to add some bullet points to sum up what’s been going on.

  1. My GLP journey is nearly complete, I am within pounds of the weight I wanted to get back to, have started running and switching focus onto gaining muscle and strength and feel genuinely happy with my progress.
  2. My side-hustle of buying and selling on Vinted and eBay has accidentally become my full time job (more on that later).
  3. My dog died.
  4. Before that, we had a fabulous summer in the exhausting heat and a fab holiday to Turkey in the even hotter heat.

Right, so last time we caught up I was in a safe and secure NHS job which I loved. At the time of writing this, I now have three weeks of my notice left to work before I become self employed. There are few reasons for this, which I won’t go into but needless to say…it’s time for me to move on and if I don’t take the leap now, when will I? I’m 10 months into my reselling business now, all fully registered and everything (get me!). It is thrilling and terrifying in equal measure. I don’t want to fully rely on reselling for my income because at that point you need really to get a storage unit/office etc. which sort of undoes the ‘working from home’ aspect. So, I will qualify from my copywriting course and set myself up as a freelance copywriter alongside. Hopefully, between the two things, I should be able to live comfortably, while doing something I genuinely enjoy.

In sadder news, my beautiful Roxy girl passed away last week. It was completely unexpected and sudden, she was only five. I had taken her out on her afternoon walk, as I did every day, thrown the ball for her one time and she collapsed having a seizure and died. It was probably the most traumatic thing I’ve ever been through. I learnt quickly how loved she was with the messages and cards/flowers from neighbours and even now 10 days on, local villagers are giving me that smile. You know the one, the one that says ‘oh you poor thing’ without saying a word. Everyone has been very kind and it has helped enormously. She was our first dog as adults, as a couple and my husbands first dog ever. She is irreplaceable in our hearts, rest her little furry soul.

I feel like my ‘middle’ that I’m rewriting has taken a different course than I thought it would and that is so exciting. If you’d told me a year ago this is what I’d be doing I’d have thought you were lying. I’m not sure what’s round the corner, but I’m certain it will be an adventure…and I’ll try to keep you filled in. Until next time.
